I prank called a restaurant and told them I was looking for a "zippadedoodad" that I had lost. They never answered on my first and second call, so I waited 45 minutes and called again. I spoke with the manager and she checked and then asked me what it was and I told her it was a gadget to "contact aliens".
Anyways, they called the police and an officer called my phone. He asked me to talk to him about the situation and I told him "I have nothing to say" and that was pretty much the only thing I said the entire time. He replied within the conversation saying he "didn't want to charge me with anything", so the conversation ended.
What I am asking, is prank calling seriously illegal and can you get a misdemeanor or felony charge for calls like this? How is it possibly illegal to call a business and ask a stupid question? The reason why I called a third time is because they kept hanging up when I asked them the question.
