Is power walking walking up and down stairs good or bad for a torn meniscus?

I have a torn meniscus that need an operation according to the dr. I can not have the operation for 2 or 3 months. I power walk regularly some of the walk is in a hilly area. Is that good or bad for a torn meniscus.
