I want to post whole books online for people to read (for free) because if I want to read a book and I can't find it online I know I get really frustrated. Is doing this illegal ??
Footnote : I am a YA from a very small town with a library that's almost non-existent. The YA section probably has about 1,000 books. I am NOT sorry for being ignorant to the answer of this question and, no, I don't want to put the author out of money - I want to be an author later on in life. I just really love writing and reading and sometimes that hinders me. I also love helping people, therefore my reason for wanting to post books. Why would I want to hurt an author ? WHY would I really want to steal from an author - I know it's their way of living. Don't ridicule me, hate me, or even think I'm ignorant and stupid because of this. I want to HELP people not hurt them.
