Is Pontiac going to make a new Firebird, or Trans am?

A couple months ago I was reading an article in a Hotrod magazine that, said there's a rumor going around about a possible new Trans am, GM might be coming out with. The article said that this is mainly dependant on the new Camaro sales. Is this true, has anyone heard an update on this? Or have any source website or something I could go to

I do not expect gm to make a new trans am but you never know. i am sure they are going to see how the new camaro sells before they invest much money in producing a new trans am.
