is playing sports in college worth it?

i will be a freshmen next year, and I am debating if i should play field hockey in college. i love the sport so so much, and it is an option for me.. but it is so much time that i am afraid that i wont be able to keep up with schoolwork and sports. i mean, college is tough. any thoughts..experiences.. know of people with that experience???
 
Give it a try, and see what happens. Playing a sport is actually good for discipline, as freshmen can sometimes get a bit carried away with their new-found freedom.
