Is placing flyers on car windshields illegal?

Shouldn't it be? I mean people have some balls to go up to, touch, and solicit thier business on private property. Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening? I certainly do NOT want anyone touching my car, and it aggrivates me to no end when I come out from a store and see flyers stuck under my windshield wiper!
 
It is not usually illegal but I have heard of towns that have used the littering ordinance to stop this kink of solicitation. However many local elected officials use this type of thing for campaigns, especially in small communities, so it is unlikely they will make it a priority.

As for the private property issues, yes the store could ask these people to stay off their property, but many times the fliers are on the cars long before the store knows anyone is out there doing it.
 
i wish! i'm right there with you-it's so annoying. i had to do it once for RadioShack-i just took all the fliers and threw them in the garbage lol. i just walked outside for 45 minutes to make it look like i were putting the fliers on windshields. i hate it when it happens. i feel it's like...i don't know...an invasion of privacy when it relates to personal property.
