im doing a debate 2day about P.E.
sadly, i got choosed to talk about why P.E is not really important in school!!
i totally disagree with that!!!!
thats why i need your help!!
help me think of ways why P. E is not really nessary
THANK YOU

because kids participate in after school sports & nobody like sweating during school!

Weather depends on doing P.E especially with Sports Days.Teachers expect students to run around in the heat,In hot weather kids get hot and sweaty. Kids often play sport outside of school/ Makes kids tired, cant focus on their homework. More emphasis should be placed on literacy skills. Some P.E is fine.

I don't think its really needed that much because (at least at my school) the kids just stand around and talk. The teachers can make you stand at a volleyball court and play a game, but that doesn't mean that you're actually going to play. Also, I don't think it really changes your weight that much. Not all kids even like sports. I also think that it sometimes teaches people to be too competitive. They should have other options, such as yoga.

I'm a P.E. mayor and I find it sad that many people feel that P.E. is not needed. I believe that the education system in the U.S. has neglected P.E. for too long in favor of imbecille spectator sports. The results and the harm done to a generation are more than obvious...

The benefits of real inclusive P.E. (not just kids standing in a court because their P.E. instructors have no clue how to get them going are tremendeous and it shows in academics as well.

Now back to your question (crinch):
- PE is not good then it promotes only a few athletes and neglects the mayority of the other student, and especially those who need it the most.
- an instructor who just jumps into the subject of PE without any background knowledge of motor skill developement, kinetics etc. is just as useless as an arts teacher who attempts to teach advanced calculus
- PE when done wrong will create more frustration and perhaps even a lifelong adversity to it.

its not really needed. but it does help to make kids healthy and develop teamwork skills amoung other competitive skills. u try harder in sports and in athletic games and it makes you more confident in school

I don't think it's neded. Many people like excercising and do it on their own time but they just don't like the things they force you to do in PE classes.
Also, no one wants to be sweaty in the middle of the day and during summer when you really need a shower, you have to wait for several hours.
