Is outdoor track a good idea for me?

From my personal experiences which include running all the way through college. Track season is usually more intense and competitive. If you are looking for a more relaxed pace of practice I would stick with CC. Most coaches hate overly social track teams. If you are looking for a social hang out the track isn't the place for it.

My trackie friends (best friends) are trying to convince me to join outdoor track and i don't know if i should.

I want to join because i want to spend time with my friends and run, but then again it is tiring and time consuming. Also, i would be pressured to join c.c or indoor, Which I don't want. My friends tell me I'll learn to like track, but I don't know if that will happen (because I've quit cross country after being in it for 3 weeks, which i do sort of regret but not entirely).

I need opinions. What should i do?
(i would be pressured into cross country and indoor to stay in shape and improve).
