Is one day of rest after six days of exercise enough for body to recover?

My routine composed of 1 hour of basketball and 30 minutes of running. Then is resting for one whole day enough or do I need to rest for two days? Also, if I swim for an hour on the resting day instead of not doing anything, will it hurt my body as I think swimming does not damage the body since there is no pressure is this correct?
