Is Obama trying to get rid of conservative media?

I heard about the declassified DHS report and it seems to me he is trying to get rid of the conservative media. Is that what he is doing or do I have my facts mixed up.
 
To all of the people here who say conservative Media is in danger, the polls say otherwise. Your insults and tirades can't change the facts. I do think he is trying, but he will fail.
 
naw i do not think so, both lib and conservative media is quite strong, there was some kind of equal time thing that existed before and some claimed he was trying to reinstate that, i think that is how glen beck got his start on CNN but i am not sure.

MSNBC seemed to lean toward the right early under bush but they found their niche.

If you are talking about the memo about "right wing extremists" that is a far cry from trying to get rid of conservative media.
 
You have your facts mixed up. I don't think Obama wants to actually get rid of conservative media. I believe the report just states that conservative media may incite right extremist groups to become impassioned enough to make terrorist attacks.

The purpose of conservative media is to enflame the passions of conservatives into outrage. The problem is that people with extremist views are already outraged, and conservative media may push them beyond outrage into actual, violent action.
 
conservative media? you mean both sources??? conservative media is already on the endangered species list...but i don't think anyone in the administration is doing anything to push it over the edge.
 
i don't know if it's obama specificaly but there are many on the left that want to reinstate the fairness doctrine. the argument can not be made that conservatives on the radio are going away when the facts are that the top 3 radio shows of any kind in the country are conservative talk. 1, limbaugh 2, hannity 3, beck.
 
I do not think so There is something on equal time for both sides not sure where that is. So if you had 15 min. of republican propaganda you would also have 15 min of Democrat propaganda.
 
No, that is false. A. that would be a violation of the law and B. he doesn't have the power to do so, nor the desire.
 
You have your facts mixed up. The DHS report has nothing to do with the conservative media. It was an internal DHS document requested by Bush and written by Bush appointees. There was another memo about left wing radicals released last January. The memo acknowledges that there are still people like Timothy McVeigh and Eric Rudolf and that they are dangerous. Duh!
 
Obama is not going to get his hands dirty with it when there are members of the Congress (Jeff Bingaman D-NM) who will try to do the dirty work for him.

They will have to get a more liberal Supreme Court first, other wish any laws to curtail free speech will be killed.

And who wants 30 million gun and bible toting rednecks upset when they don't have anything but country western music on the car radio.
