After indicating that the public option was not a critical component of healthcare overhaul, Obama seems to have set him self up for huge success or massive failure.

Did he say this knowing full well he didn't intend to sign a bill without a public option, and simply wanted to light a fire under the left??

OR

Is he all over the map on his healthcare message and slowly unraveling??
 
Good question, is he an idiot or genius? It is hard to tell, because as you say, he is all over the place on health care/insurance/reform.
Is he truly clueless or just putting up a smoke screen.
