Is Norfolk State University a diverse campus?

I'm looking for a college in the Norfolk area with a good Biology program, preferable microbiology, or even better yet medical technology. NSU has med tech, but one of my husband's friends told me I'd feel out of place, because it's a predominantly African American college. He even said I'd be the minority, and get some sort of financial aid for that. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there is a relatively diverse student body.

Also, does anyone know about their academics, particularly the medical technology program?
