Is nintendo Wii Region Free?

Is it region free, can I buy it in canada and it work here

Will it work on my pal tv?

And lastly how expensive is it in canada?

fucking Nintendo. at first they said it definitely would not have any regions...then a week later they said it would. no official info since the actual release as far as I know. but I'd like to know. I wouldn't mind picking up some jap titles.

the owners manual says

This system will only work with games discs made for use in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and Latin America

When it comes to games like that it's usually people with fighting games that doesn't necessarily require much japanese. just figure out which one is the vs. mode and your set i have battle stadium DON and its fairly easy to navigate cuz most of it is already translated but I have a friend that has a Blood+ game for the ps2 and i'm like how the hell can you play this game?
