When we first brought my son home, he woke up several times during the night of course to feed. Since then the number of times he wakes up in the night have slimmed down. Now we are down to just one waking at night usually around 3am, where he gets fed, then back down to bed until he wakes up again around 6-7ish.
My husband is the one who gets up with him for the feeding and I get up with him in the morning. My husband said the past couple of nights when the baby wakes him up, he'll go in his room, pick him up, and try to feed him but he'll only eat a little before becoming irritated and wobbling his head back and forth. So after a couple unsuccessful attempts to feed our son, my husband will just put him back down to bed, where he'll just fall right back to sleep.
I'm wondering if this middle of the night feeding is even necessary anymore, is he just waking up out of habit now? He's almost 12 weeks old now. What do you think?
