is my relationship with in-laws ruined forever?

My relationship with in-laws has been going good since we got married, except for 1 bitchy sister but i could handle it okay.
now that MY family has came here for a month and stayed here, it was crowdy and busy but i loved it, it was so great! i felt really home, we have same values and understanding and the more i realized that i have been "trying" to fit in with the in-laws. Some words my family has been said, exactly what i've thought in mind, but never speak it out cuz i was so alone here with my husband and his family.

I have spoke out few things and expressed myself to in-laws when issues happenned at right time, they didn't liked it or we got upset.

Now that my family is gone and tells me to hang in there and be strong and hopefully my husband is there for me, but sadly for in-laws and i am so alone here again. I think my relationship with in-laws are ruined only cuz i was being honest instead of trying to be fake and trying to fit-in. Do i have to go back and make it up or let it go and be the real myself?

Well first of all I would be yourself because it doesn't matter what they think of you it matter what your husband (or children) think of you. I would do my best to have a tolerant and nice relationship with you but if they aren't meeting you half way then I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think the relationship is ruined forever. Also, it is not uncommon to not get along with your inlaws.

When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
If you can't, get out.
But do draw some boundaries a bit, eh?
Just a few key things that really irk you, that you really need.
They should be able to accept some of who you are.
