Is my puppy sick (previous vomiting and poo issue). Read inside.?

The other night my puppy started vomitting about 8 times5 of which he brought up food he had ate. Well he seemed better yesterday morning so I gradually gave him a different food (he has been eating dry food, I gave him I believe it was "moist and meaty" brand. Well he had no problems with that, and no vomitting or anything that day however his um poo is... well not as solid as it should be, it's not really runny. He acts just fine (the night he vomitted however he just layed around like he had no life in him, but the past two days he's been fine. However I noticed he puked two small piles of food tonight behind his crate and his poo is still not "solid" (but not runny). His behavior however has not changed. His breeder (who helps me with him as far as vet visits and other things) said I could call her whenever no matter the time (however right now it's 2 in the morning as I type this). I'm wondering if he maybe sick? Although he's behavior is still normal does it sound serious? Like something that needs to be seen by a vet. The breeder said one of her dogs (the mother to my puppy) had a similar problem (with the poo) and she called the vet and they told her some stuff to get for her that she said worked. She told me she would let me borrow it and see if it works for my puppy. However I'm not sure if I should I would feel a bit better taking him to the vet (if it's something he needs to go to the vet for), and if he says I can use the same meds on my puppy then I'll borrow some off the breeder. What do you think?
