maintenance service? I live in an apartment community in Costa Mesa, CA. Recently I needed to have maintenance service my dishwasher so I put in a work order with the office and they set up a time to repair it. I was not home when they came to repair it but when I returned home, the work order was completed but I found my apartment had been burglarized. Most of my expensive/valuable belongings had been stolen. Whether it was the maintenance, or someone in touch with the maintenance, or even just a random person I am not sure, but its slightly convenient that this happened the same day around the same time. If the maintenance left my apartment unlocked, does that make the property management company liable? I sure do not feel safe at my apartment any longer nor do I trust the onsite staff. When I confronted them about the theft they simply said "we'll look into but the maintenance technician is from a reputable company". Do I even have any options? please help
