I have a ponytail palm I bought a while back. I have it in a sandy soil mixture, in a small clay pot with a diamater about an inch bigger than the base which is what I was told to do in my research. Anyways I unfortunately neglected it and forgot to water it for a while, and now all of the leaves on each branch are completely dead and brown. If I trim all of the branches off is there a chance it can still grow back? Or should I just toss it?

all the leaves dying does not mean it's dead, but it could be. Just wait and if the stalk gets soft when you squeeze it, after like another week or 2 and you don't see any green coming out of the top then it's dead. a way for you to tell if it's dead already is to inspect the base of the trunk/stalk, scrape a VERY small portion of the bark near the bottom, if it is light green and firm under the bark. it will robably grow back, if it is brown and or soft under the bark near the base, then it is already dead
