My 75gal tank is about 3 weeks old, it holds a Dempsey, an oscar and a Pleco. about 2 days ago my nitrite spiked up to 2.0......ive done 2 30% water changes this week. it doesn't really help tho. i talked to the aquatic specialist at petsmart and he reccomended aquarium salt. i know that this does not take away the nitrite, but stops the fish from absorbing it. i guess my question is..how long will it take for the nitrite to bottom out again?
is my nitrite level of 2.0 putting too much stress on my fish?
