is my new used honda a problem car?

I bought a 2008 honda civic 2 weeks ago. the car has 51 000 miles on it. When I left the lot for the first time, the engine light went on, the car felt like i was driving in neutral when i was trying to accelerate and the digital kilometer clock was not showing how fast I was going, stayed @ 0 the whole time. I immediatly brought it back and they fixed the probelm. I of course am now extremly apprehensive and scared this car is a problem car. Since then, the things I notice are, when driving to accelerate it is very loud and almost takes a breathe before the incline. Also when stopped at a left turn and I go to incline it feels like it takes a second to get going. Also when coming to a stop intraffic it feels like it shudders. now I have never had a honda so I'm not sure if this is just how the engine feels or if this is red flags. I did a history on the car and there is no reports of any warrenty call backs, although there is no regular maintance either recorded, but I guess they could have just maintained the car at a local shop rather than a dealership for oil changes and such. any insight is greatly appreciated, I still have powertrain warrenty for 2 years and comprehensive until march 2011.
