i just got a 2007 Marin Alpine Trail for $354.... http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/BikeSpecs.aspx?Year=2007&Brand=Marin&Model=Alpine+Trail&Type=bike ........ i was wondering what i could use this for? trail riding of course but is it suitable for small jumps or anything else? and if not what could i upgrade on this to make it able. because i don't want to mess it up , and i really want to use it for jumps but i still want a light bike.

Well, the limits of this bike DEFINITELY should not be pushed too hard... especially if you want to keep it under warranty... My only advice would be to just ride. you will eventually elarn your bike's strengths and weaknesses... just make sure you use common sense. and wear a helmet during ANY kind of riding... i would never use that bike for dirt jumps if that's what you're asking... Small jumps and launches on the trail, yes, but not large DJs and such. Just get out there and shred some trails man. I know DJs are kool but pumping hard through some trails is just as exhillerating
