Is my new beta fish dead?

I just got him 2 days ago. I conditioned his water and it is room temperature. He seemed fine since I got him, but when I woke up and went to feed him he was a the bottom not moving. I tapped the glass gently but he didn't move. I even to the fish net thing and poke him but he still won't move.

Yes. I am sorry he/she is dead...may he/she rest in peace. i relle am sorry. i no how it feels 2 loose a pet.

sorry but he probily is. the petstore usually gives you 15 to days if he dies soo take him back and get a new one.

He could very well be dead. Absolutely no movement is usually the tip off. For him to have died so quickly it may have been shock.

What kind of set up did you have prepared for him?
What size tank?
Do you have a filter?
How did you acclimate him?

Room temperature in most cases does not suffice. The betta is a tropical fish and an aquarium heater is almost always necessary to maintain the temperature between 77F-82F.
