I have lived in my house for about 5 years. I live in it with my mom brother and dad. i moved into the basement not too long ago. Ever since i moved down there I have started hearing pounding on the counter top in the kitchen at 3 am every night. Not continues pounding its just one loud bang. it does it every 10 minutes. I also hear the cuborad door open every now and again. I know for a fact it is not my parents or brother because i am able to hear them coming down their stairs. Everynow and again after a bang on the counter top i hear two foot steps with shoes on. one night i laid there and just could not sleep i was so scared. i would be less scared if i jsut knew what it was. my parents and brother also say that they are fast asleep at that time so its not them playing a trick on me considoring i hear it every night. oppinions whould be appreciated we live in a fairly modern home built in the 80s or 90s so its not like its extremly old but who knows. i belive in hauntings becuase my great grandparents house has some very strange things happen. such as the door slamming or a picture in the hall totally shattering then dissapering without a trace of glass.
