I moved into my new house about a month ago. The house is 101 years old, but is in really good condition. The only thing that's really bothering me is my bathroom --- I think it may be haunted. I'm a huge skeptical when it comes to that stuff, but this is really... 'freaky'. The medicine cabinet door (3 of them) in the bathroom open on their own. It happens randomly, but seems to happen more at night. The doors on the cabinet open most of the time at 90 degrees (all three), but there has been instances where only one or two open, and sometimes at 45 degrees or less.
Now I've tried checking for drafts, I've tried shaking the cabinet (for vibrations), checking to see if it's level, and tried looking to see if it could be anything else and I can't figure it out. There is no magnets or anything else keeping these cabinets shut, but I can ASURE you, you need to apply force to open them as the hinges or somewhat rusty.
The other weird thing is, my fiance was cleaning the bathroom and she left the room for 30 seconds to get some paper towels, and when she came back, all the doors were open. She also have claimed to see them open on their own from the kitchen one night...
Also, we have a second mirror that sits on top of the sink in the bathroom. One day I went in the bathroom to find all three doors open, and the mirror on top of the sink turned around facing the wall. There is a 1% chance it was my 3 year old son, but we asked him if he did that and he said no. Neither myself or my fiance turned it around either (why would we?).
My question is, is my house haunted? Can this be explained logically? And most importantly, what is the relation with mirrors and ghosts? Why are they opening them at 90 degrees (note two mirrors face each other when this is done).
Thanks for the input guys, but please understand it is NOT drafts, my son, or any other easy-to-think-of thing. Like I said, I am a huge skeptic of this stuff, and tried debunking it, but nothing adds up. I'm looking for that person that thinks outside of the box, and tries to put their self in my shoes.
I forgot to mention, two nights after we moved in, three teenagers were walking by and told us this house is known to be haunted. I thought nothing of it, believe me, but looking back why would these teenagers just walk up to us and tell us that?
