I have an oscar in a fresh water tank and it is moving all the rocks in the tank to the corners and creating divots in the rocks. Is she getting ready to lay eggs or what?
They do that when they're getting ready to breed, but they often do that before they actually breed. Oscars especially like to "redecorate" their tank and move things around.
Is your oscar being aggressive and chasing off tankmates? Is she staying at a certain area? Is there another fish staying by the oscar that might be the male of the pair?
Fish fertilize eggs externally(males release sperm after female lays eggs) so if there isn't a male by the oscars side, the eggs won't be fertilized.
