My cat, Cleopatra, is about 3 or 4 years old. She has not been fixed yet, and goes into very intense heat cycles almost endlessly. I've heard that there are many health risks associated with this. She is not allowed outside and, not to be rude, is actually not that clever and usually doesn't get out. In my defense, she belongs to my mother, who had been less that avid on the subject. Should we get her fixed now, or will it be more harmful than helpful?
