i always thought my betta fish was half-alive or sick. i usually have VERY BAD luck with fish. i got it a couple months ago. he acted strange. he gets very scared easily. he sits on my desk and sometimes i'll put something down on it and i see him practically fly across his water, sometimes even hitting the ground it seems.
he used to never eat, i have three different kinds of food and i just couldn't get him to eat. then one day, i put flakes in it and poked them until they started floating down into the water; he went after those so that's how i had to feed him. starting a couple days ago, he's eating another kind on his own!
also, he's always been making bubble nests. he has a huge one now that comes an inch off the side of the tank and is maybe 3 inches long.
i think he gets stressed really easily, he took an hour long journey to my college and will be taking an hour long car-ride back in a couple weeks. i really hope he makes it =[ when i change his water, it's almost impossible to get him out of the tank. he swims sooo fast, i feel like i almost squish him with the net. i'm going to start doing a 10% water change; should i use a cup to take the water out?
also, do bettas prefer light or dark?
