Is my 1974 Honda CB 750 motorcycle clutch bad or transmission, or something else?

I have a 1974 Honda CB 750 and it is having some issues. One day I was riding it and the chain came off in the driveway, I put the chain back on and rode it around town for a few miles, and heard a clunking noise as I shifted gears, I think I have heard this before. All of a sudden I was at a light and I put it in gear and it just sat there didn't engage and I couldn't move anywhere. It shifts into gears sometimes and the chain moves the tire slowly as I give it gas but if I try to stop the tire I can. I don't know if the disks need to be replaced, or there are some issues with the gears, or what.

I tried adjusting the clutch cable and that doesn't work.

The chain seems a little more loose now than it was when I was driving it before.

Any help appreciated.

It sounds like the keyway or splines are stripped out on the sprocket or the shaft.
