Story:
Katherine Caldwell is the most wanted girl at school. She has a boyfriend, Logan, who seems to understand her and a best friend, Jasmine, which she can always count on. She is described as a pure, angel-like girl with brunette hair and pale brown skin. She was going to lunch when she first sees the mysterious guy, Erik . Erik is described as a mysterious, handsome guy with dark hazel brown hair and dark green eyes.
Erik has told everyone he’s from Italy, when it turns out he’s really from the Middle Ages. The Black Plague broke out and got to Erik. Once Erik was too sick to move, he met Vlad, a vampire, also known as the last Old Ones. He meant to kill Erik, but instead he turned him. Vlad is described as a dangerous and sneaky vampire with pale blond hair and fathomless black eyes. He founds out that Erik is still alive a few years later and is determined to make his life miserable. In 1687, Erik met a girl named Delilah. Delilah looks like Katherine in ways that could make them twins and is found to be her ancestor. Erik falls in love with her. Delilah is as seemed to be killed by Vlad and Erik thinks he did it. Now Erik lives in misery with regret about Delilah.
Katherine has two twin brothers, Damian and Demetri in 9th grade. They both have tan creamy skin and brown hair. Demetri finds a box full of things from their ancestors. Demetri gets into the Caldwell tradition of drawing and Damian gets into his old habits again. Katherine finds a picture of her ancestor Delilah and her diary. As Katherine reads, she discovers that there are things such as vampires, witches, werewolves, and maenads are real. She finds it interesting to read about Delilah’s life and finds out that there was an Erik Night when she lived also. She doesn’t think of anything at first until she sees a picture of them two. She goes to confront him about, but sees him feeding on a deer.
She does run away, scared for her life but he follows her and tells her that she shouldn't be afraid. Through out the book murders happen, Mrs. Rast, Javid, and David. And two of them happen to someone who everyone thinks is dead, while one happens because of a werewolf. Jasmine turns out to be a witch and she can figure out who will die next and when. Katherine's boyfriend turns into a werewolf. Their new P.E. teacher is a vampire hunter and thinks arent the same in the small town of Loganville, Georgia.
