I am currently studying at Middlebury College -- without ever having known about the prestige of it prior to my coming -- and have just learned that Middlebury has a great and prestigious reputation. I love it here, and am as happy as can be! But, a lot of students make me question why this school has the reputation it does? I'm not saying I'm an outstanding student myself... I just notice that a lot of other students don't demonstrate the academic "excellence" that a school like Middlebury is supposedly known for.

All in all, is Middlebury really that prestigious of school? What makes it so prestigious?

Middlebury is an extremely prestigious educational facility. As regards to your classmates, I'm making the assumption that they are rich kids who feel they can get by on their family connections.

You see, there are generally two groups of kids at your school. The first group is the one that gets there through rigorous academic work and the other group is the one that comes from a wealthy family.
