Is Mccain not willing to debate Obama face to face on ISSUES?

After Obama's speech today, in which he basically said he would meet with Mccain any day, any place to debate war and foreign policy.....

well, Mccain sent out a spokesperson who danced around the challenge...used words as "hysterical" etc..smokescreen.
