Army basic teaches more weapons than these. the reason why marine basic is so long is because of one week for water survival and third phase, is only to get ready for inspections and to perfect drill for competition, Marine recruits do more drilling than almost anything else. i would rather learn how to flank an enemy MG position than to do a right oblique or reverse march, that's just me. Army recruits learn more infantry tactics, Marine recruits look pretty on the parade deck. which is more important? by the way, Marines actually have a history class in boot camp on bashing other U.S branches and it shows in there comments.
