is lust the main obstacle in spiritual advancement?

i really want to see myself a step ahead in spirituality coz i had felt some bliss a few days back when i tried to detach myself from some material senses and i felt real good but one thing that was a set back for me was my lust ..i can control anything but i failed to control my sex desires...and thats why i think i cant be on right path ...i think too much sex is main obstacle in spiritual advancement...can anybody help me how to control my sex desires ..is there any way..i usually try to halt me from nt seeing porn but i havent succeded in any of my attempts and plz help me and tell me how to be good in spirituality and whats the right step and procedure...i m praying to jesus a lot ..may he bestow his mercy on fallen soul like me ..plz reply..
