I'm 16 and for the last few years I have wanted to get a job in economics/finance, with the idea of being an investment banker seeming very appealing.
Though now however people are telling me life is not that great as an investment banker, that they work incredibly long hours which means they have no life outside their jobs and lose a lot of social contact with people.
Is this the truth about investment banking? That if I become one I would not have a life outside of my work and if so what are some other (similar) jobs within economics/finance that still pay a reasonable high salary but would allow me to have a better quality of life?
Many thanks
