Is Lenny Henry's humour about racial stereo-types a bit long in the tooth now?

Just been watching Mr Henry on TV live at the apollo. You'd have thought it was 1980 form his act.
"I'm a black guy, I want to be funny. I think I'll take a few racial stereotypes and predujices and weave a few gags out of them."

The thing is even the stereotypes are the old African type ones. Grooaaaan.
No present day observations at all. ie, "We're quite mainstream now you know."
If he wants to be nostalgic thats fine but I think Stephen K Amos does it better. IMHO

So, Lenny has nothing new to say. He just trots out some old gags woven together in a vaguely coherant fashion.

Bit of an insult to the audience really. Not to mention the fact that it makes for crap telly on new years night.

Come on Lenny. Where's your edge gone?
