I am just wondering, because since my recent severe attack, my legs have been really swollen, thighs down and esp, the feet and ankles. I am just wondering is this related to my back. This has only happen to me one time before and it was a year ago when I was hospitalized for the pain. Along with the pain, esp. sciatic pain and this swelling walking is very painful and hard. Also, I still have the funny feeling in my groin area and my doc did not think anything of it. I do not remeber having this pain before, but she said i had it when I first came. I di not remeraber that. Anyways, what do you do wait till it gets worse or what. It feels like a hot flushed feeling and having a bm, besides severe constipation is a big issue. Does anyone have any experience on this or input? Thanks alot.

Thanks mamasan and sunset, I think i need to go to the doc soon, because it is only getting worse.

I am not sure but I also have a lot of what the Dr's are calling trigger points. But the pain in groin I also get it a lot as with a lot of other pain to. My Dr. thinks it is because of my SI joint Had an injection and some help. The swell I am not sure. Have you called any one else and ask about the pain? The rest seems to me when I go they always ask if I am having the trouble you explain Have you told your Dr about your bowels. I know when I can not go one good way to help is to drink lemon aid it will help move it. I use it when I have surgery so I can go home. Need a ear to vent just write. I will respond and if I miss it just yell at me. Take Care Deborah:jester:

I have never heard of swollen legs from back problems, i would go the your doctor ASAP. To find out what it might be...
Good luck & feel better!

Hi kkmom2. I've had a similar problem, mostly in my left leg and foot. It started about seven months ago, when I began having problems with L-1. I've come to the conclusion that it's nerve related, because as far as I can tell...it only feels like it's swollen, but in reality it's not. It usually happens after I've had a flare up of disc trouble, and when I try to walk more than a few minutes. You might behaving some nerve issues...something to ask your doctor about. Bill

KK - I seem to remeraber you having swelling before for some reason do to meRAB. ???

Thank you for your response, and also allowing me to vent. Yeah I am just scratching my head on this one, I mean I am really swollen thights down, I would not dare step on a scale at this moment. I will try to see me docter tomorrow so we can see whats going on. I am in constant excruciating pain no matter what med I take, just miserable.

KK I am not sure if this is it or not but when I was taking Neurontin I had terrible swelling in both legs and actually gained 10 lbs.. I had to get off the medicine because the swelling was also causing blisters on my legs. I hope you find out what is causing your problem soon.

Linda

Weird that you'd ask that! I had the same problem, the swelling started with the feet and moved up to my knees! It got so bad I got a stretch mark on my foot! I called my doctor at the time who I thought was a dope because he just didn't seem to care only to find out he had his own issues going on but another doctor gave me water pills but by the time I got them the problem solved its self and never reoccurred! The nurses tried to tell me it was my meRAB but I'd been on them for some time and feet never swelled to those proportion before!
