This question applies to all branches - Air Force OCS, Navy OCS, Army, Coast Guard, etc:
I know you're probably thinking,
"Why would you want to put yourself through the hell of officer boot camp if you don't want to go into the military?", but I'm still lightly considering it at this point just because I think it would really help me reach my full potential as a person.
I heard that sometimes recent college grads will actually join OCS for other reasons than wanting to join - personal and professional growth, etc. - and that you're not actually required to join the military after you complete the program? Is this true? Is it true of certain branches but not others?
Is the obligated amount of time to serve the same for all branches of the military?
Thanks!
