Is joining Army OCS a mistake?

First of all I know you don't "join" OCS. You apply and if you are lucky you get accepted. What I'm asking is will I regret it. Am I doing it for the right reasons. Right now I'm now college and have been pretty sucessful. My grades haven't been to good, but somehow I have landed a lot and highly regarded internships. At this point in my life I would be at a great starting point for this field. But I'm torn, I've always been very interested in becoming an officer. My brother is an officer and he loves it...a lot of my family members went to West Point and now are VERY successful. What I think my family members got out of it was they learned how to be leaders and thats what I want. I also want to have a good life story and people are always interested in those who have served. I dont want to spend my whole life in the military but maybe get out once I reach Captain. Would joining OCS hinder my future career options afterwards or help it? Just give me you're views on OCS do you get a lot out of it? Would it help my future non military career? How do you know if the military life is right for you?
