Is it wrong to be mad because somebody didn't buy you a birthday gift?

What is a reasonable way to react? My partner didn't buy me a gift and barely spent any time with me. Would i be overreacting if i got mad? Thing is, i got her something for her birthday and now I am very broke

P.S We share a birthday
