Is it wrong for me to say I don't want to participate in a debate on Foreingers

New member
living in Ireland? I heard the negative response from the other students and decided that I don't want any part of it. The teacher suggested we would do a debate on the Lisbon Treaty but I don't want to participate in it since it seems to be a 'foreign bashing' session. What should I do? I am really upset by the whole incident. ;0(
