Is it worth rebuilding a 86 Toyota Corolla?

It still runs and gets really good gas mileage! It has had no major repairs..and has over 200,000 miles!!! In other words "It's time with us is very limited". I thought I might just fix it up when it finally gives out....or would it be cheaper and more practical to get another car. I have a truck (10 mi.per/gal!!)...so it won't be my only means of transportation. It has no sentimental value.

go for it, but from people who have owned one it might be a money pit considering its age, look at it closely to see any imperfections

The 86 corolla, among other earlier years depending on what type of engine and transmission, is worth a lot to drift racers, and some other compact tuners due to the fact that its RWD and, if it has a five speed, has a bulletproof drivetrain when properly built. Turbo setups are big on these. Even with 200k, if the engine is rebuilt, it could be worth something.
