I live in Maryland. I tend to like the Democrats more in national politics. I voted for Sarbanes and Obama last year and I also like Cardin.
However in Maryland state politics I tend to be a Republican (as is anyone in the state who is for reform and against corrupt political machines).and I want Erlich back.
I know that this is common in other parts of the country, like the South, where they all vote Republican for President and then are Democrats in state politics.
So simply put, how many other people are like this, supporting one party locally while supporting the other one nationally?
I wouldn't say wierd. I know that in much of the South the only two Democrats they have voted in as President since the 60s are Carter and Clinton and yet Democrats still run all the local offices. West Tennessee (where my baby lives) is just like that
