I have really bad social skills and I don’t know how to approach people I don’t know but I really am trying hard to make some friends on my break before I start work so I will be trying to find a seat in the cafeteria and join some people and a bunch of people were talking and there was an empty seat next to a girl who works at this place and I asked: “Excused me, is this seat taken? Mind if I sit here?” and she was very rude and looked at me weird like I asked and she said: “I really prefer you didn’t sit here! Just leave please!” and I said: “Well there’s no empty seats!” and the people she was with said: “Get out of here please. I don’t want any stranger here butting in our conversation.”
So I ended up eating my food on the floor and sitting against the wall and vending machines because there was nowhere else to sit and I felt like I was isolated in my social life!!! I am very sad about this and crying for being treated like this!!
Were they right? Is it weird to sit by people I don’t know? Like I wanted to join them and they wouldn’t let me!!
