Is it weird to have a role model?

I am going into my freshman year of high school and I really look up to this girl who is girl at my school who is going to be a junior. She's a really nice girl and she's also very good at sports and very pretty. The thing is, my friends all my fun of me for being "obsessed" with her just because it makes me happy when she talks to me/texts me. She knows that she is my role model, and she says that she's honored and happy. But, I hope I'm not creeping her out...
Is it weird for me to look up to her?
 
its weird, but in a good way- u could even exaggerate your admiration for her a little, and people will think its funny. ex: fake tattoo of her name, dress as her for halloween (or just say u r going to!) , write her love letters.
 
no, it is not. it's good to have a role model, someone u can look up to or learn to be better. but u need to be careful choose one haha and i think u should keep it to urself u know. ur making her happy not creeping her out ;)
