Is it weird that i want to meet someone from the internet?

I met this guy named Louis online and we've been talking to eachother non-stop for the past 4 weeks all day and all night pretty much through texting. We have alot in common and can really relate to eachother. We've talked about meeting eachother but I told him i wasn't ready because he could be some sort of axe murderer and he totally understood. If i do this it would be my first time meeting someone from online...is that weird??? I'd really like to meet him....
 
I think it is important to consider how old you are. And of course, this is something I don't know... but are you mature enough to handle this situation? What if you meet him and he is psycho, what would you do? Does he know where you live or how to find you? There are all kinds of things to consider. In the end, if you decide to meet him, make it somewhere public, like the mall at the food court.
