I'm very close to a teacher I had my Sophomore year and will have next year, my Senior year. I visited him weekly this past year and we chatted about our interests, bands we liked, movies we watched, books we read, etc. I recently sent him an email update about how my Summer was going and some issues I've been having with my parents (too lengthy and complex to go into here). He responded and told me how his Summer's been and made me feel better about my parental issues. There was absolutely no, "Why is my student emailing me?" vibe, but it does seem a little odd. He's totally the teacher who stays connected with his students for years after he graduates, but I can assure you that none of my classmates email their teachers just for a chat over the Summer. Is this weird or normal?
Yeah, it's totally nothing more that... I guess a close friendship is the best way to describe it... with a guy who's like 40-something lol. There's not even a teacher crush deal going on. He's just really the only adult I've ever been able to talk to.
