Is it weird for me to still care?

I was going out with my ex for a year and a half and I was head over heels in love with him. He broke up with me out of nowhere, over the phone, and ever since there has not been a day where I havent thought about him. I have moved on to the most amazing guy and I would never go back to my ex but I still miss him like crazy. I found out last night that he has a new girlfriend and for some reason it still rips me up inside. What is going on? :[
 
it isnt weirs for you to feel this way at all. love isnt just a switch that u can turn off. you still care about him and probably have some feelings for him. and its gonna take time. but sooner or later the feelings will go away. its just gonna take time. i went through the exact same thing. im still going through it. my ex put me thru so much shit after we broke up. but still i miss him alot. and i love my new b/f and i feel weird cuz i still feel like i have feelings for my ex. but i know he was obviously no good for me. and yes when he gets a new girlfriend i get a little jealous. but its because he was a big part of my life for 2 years. and its weird seeing some otehr girl in the palce i used to be once. you will always care. all of this is normal. u just need to think about how u now have an amazing guy and theres no need to ruin something thats going good
 
You're not over him and you miss what you two had. I'm assuming he was your first love, so there will always be sentimental value and attachment to him. Just give it time and you will be fine. I bet he felt the same way when he found out you had a new guy.
