Is it weird for an office to have a pot luck ONCE A WEEK and setup a dining

table in the middle of the office? Keep in mind the office is a public state-funded office and they put the table where lines of customers normally form.

They also spend ALL morning setting up leaving me the only person to man the phones because I spend my lunch with my wife.

I just need a reality check, is this ridiculous or what?
Actually my boss takes 60 minute lunches (we only get 45mins) and leaves 15 mins early every night.
