Is it weird for a girl to have the japanese name 'Kaname' ?

I am in a beginner Japanese class in high school & the class was asked to choose a Japanese name for ourselves; and I chose 'Kaname' off the top of my head because Chidori Kaname from Full Metal Panic! is my role model... But when I looked it up, Kaname seemed to be a boy's name o.o; Is it weird/not appropriate for a girl ? D:
