Is it weird for a 17yr old guy to be going out with a 14 yr old girl?

At the moment its only 3 years but a big 3 years as he is over the age to be legal however she is underage which could cause him to get in to trouble even if they have a proper loving relationship. It would be better to wait a few years until she was older.

depends on how far the relationship goes.. if its just a hold hands and kiss, then i don't see any problem, if it makes its way to a bed room, then that could be a problem

YES! My ex is 17 and he is going out with a 14 year old.

I feel pathetic for ever liking him, even before it happened. From 16 your pretty much in adult, 14 is still a kid.

The 17 year old will want more than just holding hands, the 14 year old girl, just sees him as a boyfriend she can boast about. As long as he keeps the snake in his trousers, it might work, but I think they would see the relationship in different ways.

it's not weird. it's pretty much normal.

what's weird is if two couples are dating when they are 5 or more years apart.

but to some people, they don't care about the age. they just care about how much they love each other.

When I was seventeen I drew the line at two years, I wouldn't want the gap to be much bigger than that. 17 and 14 could mean two years and one month difference, or it could mean three years and eleven months difference...I think...I tend to screw those calculations up. My point is though, there is some leeway there. And yeah the other guy was right, as people get older the gap doesn't matter as much because it's a ratio sort of thing. It wouldn't be weird at all for a 20 year old woman to go out with a 23 year old man.

I'd like to say "as long as the two people are comfortable with it it's okay, and it shouldn't matter what other people think" but in reality, it does matter.

kind of, but a 17yr old guy, wants to do "things" that the 14yr old girl shouldn't be thinking about until shes 16!!!!!
get meh drift?

I think it's fine. You're only three years older. Girls are usually three years ahead in maturity then guys... I think it's fine, well it also depends what both parents think...
